Is it even Fall if there’s no PSL?

As many of you know, the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte is all the craze right now. Can you believe it’s September 10th and the PSL has already been released? Come on Starbucks…just put it on the menu permanently – satisfy our NEEDS!

Last year the Waco Starbucks and others near by, actually used up all of their pumpkin syrup! Can you imagine how people reacted to that?! Having to wait for another shipment to come in…I was one of the few customers who may or may not have gotten upset and thrown a toddler tantrum…

For those of you who, like me, have some serious PSL needs *cough* addiction…here’s an idea – make your own!  It may not have that Starbucks PSL je ne sais quois (who knows what their secret ingredient is), but just in case Starbucks is swarmed with girls in yoga pants who love Fall and everything pumpkin spice again this season, it’s good to have a backup plan 🙂 Since I am such a big fan, I had very high and unreasonable expectations for any non Starbucks recipe touting the name “Pumpkin Spice Latte.” . I’ve tried making several of the recipes I’ve found online, but they just didn’t do it for me so I came up with my own. Let’s get started! *insert pumpkin emoji here*
I’m a little obsessed with my adorable yellow Keurig! This is what I used to brew my coffee.
I found this lovely pumpkin spiced coffee at Target. You don’t have to use K-Cups. All you need is a base pumpkin spice coffee.
Then you’ll need milk and a jar. I like to use 2% in my coffee, but it’s whatever you prefer to put in your drink!
Poor as much as you usually put in your coffee, then a tad bit more!
Then SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE for about a minute!
REMOVE THE LID! Put milk in the microwave for 30 seconds
Other ingredients you’ll need are pumpkin pie spice, sugar, and whipped cream!
Add about 1 to 1 1/2 spoonfuls of sugar and a dash of pumpkin pie spice
Once your milk is light and fluffy pour it into your coffee. You can spoon out the fluffy stuff for the top if desired.
Add some whipped cream and pumpkin pie spice on top!
Toss in a straw and you’re competing with Starbucks!
It’s already starting to feel like Fall! Sweaters and all!
Enjoy your delicious homemade PSL! Remember this recipe if Starbucks decides to run out of pumpkin syrup again! We will survive! Also, it’s almost Fall so be happy! It’s only the best season of them all. Sweaters, boots, pumpkins, my birthday!! I should stop while I’m ahead…ff to work! Have a great day!
-xoxo
