Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

YAY! My first book review. Let’s see how this goes. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children movie hits theaters September 30th! The day after my birthday, so now you guys know what I’ll be doing to celebrate! Okay, let’s get down to business. The book. This was a book I was very drawn to in Barnes & Noble before I even realized a movie was being filmed for it. The back really intrigued me. I’m all about supernatural, mythical, magical, books. This is a darker book though. There are creatures in this that are pretty freaky and downright scary. The beginning starts off fairly slow, but it did pull me in. I wanted to keep reading and get to the bulk of the story. I really enjoyed the main character, Jake. He was a little awkward but found himself with others who were more peculiar than he was. Haha, I don’t want to give anything away! Book Reviews are hard, I feel like I should be saying more but then I want want to say too much! I think the book was a little slow but all in all I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to see the movie. The sequel, Hollow City, is the next book on my list! What are you reading right now?
