I’ve been talking a lot about Spring lately but it’s because I’m super stoked to pull out all my colorful J.Crew chinos and spend as much time as I can outside. Happy Earth Day you guys. I realized the other day that I have been spending far too much time on my Instagram app lately. The other day, I was typing up a paper that was due at midnight and caught myself picking up my phone to look at the time and then opening up my Insta app for no reason at all. This is crazy, isn’t it?
Yesterday, I interviewed at a museum on campus and one of the questions was, “why do you want to work here?” I really contemplated on my response and discussed how I love to learn. I want to learn as much as I possibly can while I’m on this Earth. My friend and I joke about how we are such nerds because we attend lectures on campus just to listen and learn from them, not for any kind of extra credit incentives. I do attend as many extra credit lectures as I can to though! Get as much extra credit as you can in college! Free points y’all!
Something I love to do when I travel is attend the city museums. You can learn so much in the little time you’re there. I thank my parents and school field trips for dragging us to museums when we were young because now I truly adore them. I love Instagram and blogging but sometimes I have to take a step back and go on a hike or just lay outside. Next time you go out, put your phone down and watch others. See how often they are on their phones. It’s kind of crazy, but can also be a game! Count how many people have their phones out in public and aren’t conversing with whoever they are with.
Put down your phone and enjoy this Earth Day!
